Fulfill the Role of a Significant Community Hospital: Sin-Lau is a regional teaching hospital in the Southern region of Taiwan with a comprehensive system of 27 specialist department and three separate facilities (the Tainan Sin-Lau Hospital, the Annan Clinic and the Madou Branch Hospital). The combined buildings and grounds cover an area of about 60,000 square meters. The combined capacity is 850 beds and there are 1,500 employees.

Provide Hospice Care : Sin-Lau was the first hospital in Tainan Area to open a hospice ward. This provision continues to be an important part of our vision and calling to provide comprehensive care. The Dr. James Maxwell Hospice Ward, named for our founder, has a team of medical specialists, nurses, social workers, chaplains and volunteers. These professionals provide terminal cancer patients with holistic care for bodies, minds and souls.

Offer Acute and Critical Care: 24-hour-a-day special medical need, emergency and critical care AND specialists teams for the treatment of strokes cardiovascular diseases. and trauma

Focus on Woman & Child Medicine: Sin-Lau is a woman & child friendly oasis of medical care. The tocolysis ward for women in the premature labor has been lauded as demonstration center by Taiwan’s Premature Baby Foundation. We hope to provide the level of integration service to the public.

Extend Home-care Service : Since 1988, Sin-Lau has offered physician-staffed home-care service to discharged patients. This was a pioneer project in Taiwan, offered on a case-by-case-needed basis. Beyond physical presence of a doctor in a home, telephone counseling is available around the clock to provide patients with holistic and continued care.
